Car Hits Plane

An unusual accident in DeFuniak Springs has landed one man in the hospital, and police are looking for another man, not because he's in trouble, but to let him know his airplane was hit by a car.

It happened around 4 Thursday morning when a car on 331 ran past this intersection with U.S. Highway 90, through a fence and into the DeFuniak Springs Airport.

The driver was pinned in his car for a while and was airlifted to sacred heart hospital in serious condition.

The private plane was badly damaged, but authorities haven't been able to reach the owner. They believe he's an Albuquerque, New Mexico resident who may be vacationing in our area.

The plane is a 1975 Cessna 182 P.

If you have any information that could help locate the pilot/owner please can call Areo Fx at (850) 892-2000.
