A Correctional Officer from the Calhoun County Jail in Blountstown, who negotiated sexual favors from a woman for privileges for her husband who was in jail, has been fired just moments after the alleged incident took place.

William Billy Strawn was off duty when he met with a woman in the Altha area and negotiated sex favors. The woman had just been released from the jail.

But, her husband was still incarcerated and she and Officer Strawn discussed special consideration for her husband in exchange for sex. The discussions ended when family members interrupted.

Sheriff David Tatum went the scene and met with Strawn and immediately terminated him. He has been jailed in Blountstown on charges of Bribery and Solicitation of Prostitution.

you did a good job sheriff.i too supervise a crew of men.you try and do the best you can,but sometimes it's like raising yunguns all over again.you did the right thing by charging him exactly like you would any other person who has broken the law.it's obvious that this is politicly related.some years ago we watched another deputy get away with arson.when everybody knows it was covered up by the sheriff for 20 years.that sheriff was not you.at least you have the courage,as embarrasing as it is for you,to uphold the law no matter who is commiting the crime.this takes courage and i'm proud of you
