The hit and run driver who killed one spring breaker and critically injured two more at Panama City Beach wont be getting a new trial.
Ronald Arrowood already had three DUIs on his record when he slammed into the rear of a small car carrying Illinois spring breakers on Thomas Drive five years ago.
Arrowood drove away from the scene, but was captured a short time later. He was sentenced to life, but then won a new sentencing hearing from the District Court of Appeals. His sentence was reduced to 40 years in prison.
Arrowood has continued to try to win a new trial. Thursday the appeal court ruled against his request.
His prison release date is 2039.
