Jackson County's corrections chief is heading south by a few miles. He's taking on the job as warden of the Bay County Jail in Panama City.
An internal Bay County memo obtained by NewsChannel Seven indicates Mark Henry has been chosen by Corrections Corporation of America (CCA) to replace Kevin Watson, who was ousted from the top jail job last month.
Henry has been head of the Jackson County Jail operations in Marianna for the past two years. Before that he spent more than 20 years in the management of federal prisons.
The formal announcement of his new appointment is expected later this week.
