It will soon be illegal for adults to authorize racy pictures of young
teenage women.

An investigation found that many parents were signing authorizations for their daughters to pose in scanty clothing or even topless for a fee.

The legislation would make it illegal for parents to authorize the pictures.

Senator Mike Fasano says it would also make it a crime for the photographer to not know that 12 years olds were underage, even if they say they are older.

“These are children 12 years old, 13 years old, 14 years old, these
young girls think that they were going to be going into the modeling
profession, only to find out that these pictures were put onto websites
for people to purchase and look at, for pedophiles to look at.”

Taking the pictures could bring a five year jail term or up to a five
thousand dollar fine.

It has already cleared the state House and is expected to go to the governor tomorrow.
