An Orlando truck driver has been arrested on Interstate 10 near Sneads in Jackson County with 19 bundles of marijuana weighing 106 pounds.
DOT Motor Carrier Compliance Officer Captain Tommy Jackson arrested 53-year-old Jerome McGill of Orlando. He’s been charged with trafficking in marijuana.
Captain Jackson stopped a tractor trailer at the Sneads East Bound Weight Station on I-10 for a commercial vehicle inspection. During the inspection, Jackson became suspicious after McGill provided conflicting information about his load of produce.
A canine drug dog alerted twice on the truck and a search revealed boxes containing the bundles of pot.
McGill, the truck driver, was booked into the Jackson County Jail in Marianna.
