Bay District School Board members asked the St. Joe Company to modify the 'Detailed Specific Area Plan" or "D-SAP" for the West Bay area.
The changes involve land St. Joe will donate for five new schools. A company representative used a slide show presentation Wednesday afternoon.
He explained how the changes would affect the plan, which includes the merging of an elementary school and a middle school into one new k-8 facility.
The board also requested that construction of this new, larger school begin earlier than the current plan dictates. The Bay County Commission and the Florida Department of Education must also approve any changes to the D-SAP.
The Bay County School Board hopes to have the new k-8 school at West Bay will open by the fall of 2007.
