Panama City police have arrested a man they say is responsible for robbing a business late Wednesday morning.
The suspected robber, 42-year-old Amos Works, who allegedly pulled a knife on the clerk, held up Dixie Cleaners in the 1500 block of Lisenby Ave. across from Panama Plaza around 11 a.m.
Works fled after the hold up but was captured a short distance away after an eyewitness called 911.
Wednesday’s robbery was the latest in a series of hold-ups that Panama City police have been investigating.
Three other robberies in the past two weeks at fast food holdups have kept police busy. So far, no one's been arrested in those cases. It’s not known if Wednesday’s robbery is connected to any of the other recent hold-ups.
The female clerk at the dry cleaners was hospitalized briefly after the robbery.
