The Florida Supreme Court is being asked to compel local circuit judge Richard Albritton to appear for a deposition.
The state Judicial Qualifications Commission originally raised a formal complaint against the judge in May and says it has made numerous requests for Albritton’s deposition but his attorney has refused.
In a court request filed Wednesday, the J-Q-C says the latest attempt to depose the judge failed when his attorneys requested certain privileged materials prepared by the J-Q-C during its investigation.
The commission is asking the Supreme Court to order Judge Albritton to appear for the deposition. He faces 36 different allegations of judicial misconduct.
