Despite the rain, the United States Postal carriers and volunteers spent their day, Saturday, picking up food donations from Bay County residents.
This is the 21st year that Bay County's postal carriers have participated in the food drive.
USPS distributes flyers and bags prior to the food drive to let residents know when to have their goods ready.
All of the food collected gets divided and sent to any local food banks in need.
USPS expects about 120-thousand pounds this year.
Retired Mail Carrier, Gene Jump said, "every year it seems like it is just a little bit better, which is marvelous and I think that this year we'll do better than last year, even with the rain!"
Volunteers say that they are very grateful for everyone who participates.
They hope even more people will participate next year.
