A man known for his ability to create advanced education opportunities across America is taking the reins at the FSU Panama City campus.
George DePuy is the new dean of the local branch campus. He's filling the spot left vacant by Acting Dean Ken Shaw.
Dean DePuy's previous experiences include the role of Chief Academic Officer at UC Berkeley and Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Stout.
DePuy also helped develop 13 new degree programs at the SUNY Institute of Technology in New York.
The new Dean says he's excited to work with an established institution, rather then create one from scratch.
"Oh, I'm very excited because I just love what this institution is about. The fact that it's upper division and graduate, it takes people who've already started their college career and moves them along to their bachelors degree, their masters degree."
DuPuy says he hopes to finish out his career with his stay in Panama City. He plans to be here for the next five to 10 years.
