A few folks in Jackson County are about to get their shot on prime time television, but don't expect to see them on any of your local channels.

A Japanese television crew will be in Marianna for the next couple weeks filming two episodes for Nippon Television's "World's Astonishing News." The filming crew is looking for actors of all types to play various roles in the show that's similar to America's Most Wanted.

It appears that Marianna’s southern hospitality is world famous.

Kie Sugimota, Production Manager, says, “Another crew came like a year or two ago and they said Marianna was very nice to shoot in, so we took their word and we haven't been at all. It’s so wonderful here.”

The crew of World's Astonishing News is holding a casting Tuesday night at the Micromotel in Marianna until 8 o’clock. For more info you can e-mail them at castings@t-kdigital.com.
