Some Bay County sheriffs spent the better part of their day following what they believe to be a sick dolphin in Panama City Beach.

It was first discovered in the Gulf near the Grand Cayman Hotel off Front Beach Road.

At first people thought it was a shark, but when Bay County Sheriff's Beach Patrol took a closer look they discovered it to be a dolphin. They did call Gulf World to the scene, but they were legally unable to do anything since he only appeared to be sick and not entangled by anything.

They say if he'd been injured by human related causes they'd of course intervene, but there was no evidence of that.

Bay County sheriffs say they followed it east down the beach for at least an hour and half. They started at Grand Cayman Hotel on Front Beach Road and followed it all the way down to the Celedon, where they finally called it off.
