A couple of local fishermen had an unfortunate meeting with a bridge here in Bay County Monday. Around 7:00 AM Marvin McDaniels and Glen Milner set-out from Earl Gilbert Park in Parker in their boat. They didn't get very far.

Parker Police and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Officers say they two men were checking their fishing gear, got distracted, and the boat hit the Dupont Bridge.

Both men were tossed out of the boat and into the water.

McDaniels was driving. He was pinned between the boat and bridge and suffered leg injuries. Milner was not badly hurt.

They were in the water for about 20-minutes before some passers-by rescued them.

The crash is still under investigation.

Officials say the bridge was not damaged.
