The Bay County Commission went to court Friday afternoon, trying to shut down the Buck Wild saloon on Thomas Drive.
The commission’s circuit court lawsuit claims the nightclub is a public nuisance, it violates the county’s land development regulations, and it was illegally expanded.
The lawsuit claims Buck Wild has spawned more than 200 noise and other complaints from its neighbors. The county lawyers also say Buck Wild’s 2000 square foot expansion violated the zoning rules, and the club owners failed to get any of several permits required for such an expansion.
The court is being asked for a temporary injunction putting Buck Wild out of business until it cam be rezoned, and the necessary permits are obtained.
The county wants the club shut down permanently if there are any more noise complaints.
