A Bay County grandmother who had her former son-in-law murdered will not be getting a new trial.
The First District Court of Appeals made that decision Thursday in the case of Priscilla Trexler of Panama City.
Trexler is serving life without the possibility of parole for the 1998 murder-for-hire of her former son-in-law, Ron Stovall. Stovall was gunned down at his Stephens Drive home in Forest Park in the early morning hours October 6 as he was leaving for work at UPS.
Having lost a bitter child custody battle, Trexler feared Stovall and his new wife were about to take her grandchild to Montana.
She paid gunman Alberto Perez $10,000 to kill the Stovall. Trexler was sentenced to life in prison for being an accessory to murder.
