One of the legends of professional wrestling is back in Panama City Beach for a big charity event that took place Sunday afternoon.
Dusty Rhodes held the Third Annual Dusty Rhodes American Dream Charity Motorcycle Run. The event kicked off Sunday morning at Ms. Newby's on Thomas Drive and ended around 5 in the afternoon at Newby's Two.
All proceeds from the bike run are going to the Panama City Shriners to transport more than 320 children to the Children's Hospital in Tampa.
Last year the money was divided to other charities, but Dusty Rhodes says this year all the money is going solely to the Shriner's Transportation Fund.
Dusty Rhodes said, "Well, it's an honor to be associated with the Shriners and what they do. It's no about Dusty Rhodes’ American Dream; the bars and bikers and theses guys of the road. We're the same. We get a dollar, two dollars, we don't want no change. Whatever it is and that money goes out to the Shriners Hospital. This year we're keeping it right here right here in the deal men."
Connie Jones, President of American Dream Productions, said, "We're transporting over 320 kids back and forth to that hospital down there in Tampa. We need all the help we can get. Just like you folks, our dime's not going that far anymore when it comes to gasoline. We gotta move those kids and get their treatments."
They had about 240 bikes show up, but the total amount raised is still to be calculated.
