This year will mark the 12th anniversary of the September 11th attacks that killed 2,753 people. It's a tragedy that will never be forgotten. The area's second annual Run for Remembrance 5k and 10k is this weekend. It's a fundraiser for the Soldiers Angels organization that provides care and aid to deployed men and women in the armed forces.
Again, the Race for Remembrance is Saturday, September 7th at the Frank Brown Park entrance to Gayle's Trails. The 5/10k starts at 8:05 a.m., following a moment of reflection at 7:46 a.m. and 8:03 a.m. in honor of those who perished in the attacks on the World Trade Center Towers. At 8:37 am a moment of reflection will be observed to honor those who perished at the Pentagon and on Flight 93. If you pre-register the cost is $20 for the 5k and $25 for the 10k.
