Self-proclaimed investigative journalist John Caylor of Panama City Beach is free after being jailed for causing a disturbance at the Bay County Courthouse.
Caylor went before a judge on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting an officer without violence.
Wednesday afternoon, Caylor went to the Felony Division at the courthouse to get documents from a 1989 trial.
Arresting officers say he caused a disturbance with the clerk. The officers say they twice asked Caylor to leave. He refused, reportedly continuing to cause a disturbance, so they arrested him.
Caylor claims the court violated the Sunshine Law by refusing to fulfill his records request. He's due back in court Friday morning for an arraignment.
