Pensacola-Based Marine Charged with Murder

Authorities say a marine stationed at Pensacola Naval Air station has been charged with murder in the stabbing death of a man after an altercation.

Nineteen-year-old Brandon Michael Ward is charged with one count of murder in the death of 18-year-old Joseph Andrew Hall and one count of attempted murder for allegedly attacking 19-year-old Joseph Allen Ruinato.

Santa Rosa County sheriff's deputies responded to a call near Whiting Field, where they found the two men stabbed.

According to the sheriffs, Hall died at the scene and Ruinato was in critical condition with stab wounds to the shoulder, chest and abdomen. At the scene, a homeowner told deputies that Ward was inside the house and threatening suicide.

According to deputies, the stabbing likely stemmed from a disturbance at a party earlier in the evening.
