PANAMA CITY BEACH -- If all the holiday shopping didn't get you into the Christmas spirit, maybe this will. Panama City Beach officials held their 32nd Annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony Monday at Frank Brown Park.
Besides the tree lighting, the crowd listened to Christmas music from the Surfside Middle School Choir.
Mayor Gayle Oberst also presented prizes to essay winners who helped light the tree this year.
For some locals this was their first time attending the beach tree lighting.
Tree Lighting Attendee Chris Nemeth said, "At Christmas time it's time for us to get together and be as a community, you know."
