There is a lot of discussion about Halloween these days, but next week holds a very important day, Election Day!

And while kids may be out trick-or-treating, there are kids and teenagers who are out and about talking about November 4th.

Rock the Vote is speaking out to encourage young voters here in Bay County to vote.

The following information is from a Rock the Vote press release:

Rock the Vote is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that empowers over 45 million young people in America claim their voice in the political process through voting. Through music and pop culture youth are encouraged to identify, learn about, and take action on the issues that affect their lives.

A Rock the Vote rally last week was targeted to attempt to reach the 18–35-year-old demographic, and will provide an opportunity to connect youth of our city with local information regarding the upcoming election. There will be various materials addressing issues such as early voting locations, absentee ballots, and information on how youth can get involved in local efforts to help voter turnout.
