Panama City Man Committed for Threatening President

A Panama City man will be committed to a mental health facility for threatening to kill the President.

After hearing from doctors, a federal judge found Kelly James not guilty by reason of insanity. The length of his commitment is not stated in court records.

James was a resident at the Bay Behavioral Health Center in Panama City in early January when he made the threat.

He told health workers and government investigators that he would assassinate President Bush when he is released because he was angry with him for keeping troops in Iraq.

He also said he planned to commit suicide after the shooting.
