A 27-year-old Georgia man, charged with DUI manslaughter, is being held in the bay county jail on $100,000 bond.

State troopers say Storm Wood lost control of his motorcycle back in September, wrecking it near the entrance to St. Andrews State Park.

His passenger was killed.

The dead woman's family says this tragedy not only claimed her life, but split up her whole family.

Fourteen-year-old Brittney Bodmer is getting ready to celebrate her 15th birthday, but her mother and siblings won't be there this year to share it with her.

Brittney's mom, Robin Arnett, was the woman killed this past September during thunder beach weekend. She was a passenger on a motorcycle that crashed on Thomas Drive.

Robin's sister Laura wants the community to know that her sister was more than just the girl killed on the back of the motorcycle during Thunder Beach weekend.

She was also a sister, a daughter, and a mother of three beautiful children.

"They were all separated in that one minute. They didn't just lose their mother they lost each other. They lost their brothers and sisters."

All three children have different fathers so they each ended up in different state.

As for Brittney, she's staying in Panama City beach with her Aunt Laura and Uncle David.

Brittney says the best way to keep tabs on her little brother and sister is through MySpace.

However, MySpace is the same place she attempted to make contact with the man who allegedly killed her mother.

Laura Thomas, Brittney’s aunt, says, "She’s such a kind and forgiving person she was feeling bad and thinking he might be feeling bad for killing someone so she wrote him a message on his MySpace and it said something like I forgive you and hope you don't feel bad and he never responded and never sent a letter."

Florida state troopers say Storm Wood lost control of his Yamaha motorcycle near the entrance and curve to St. Andrews State Park.

That's when the mother of three was thrown into this road sign and killed.

Wood suffered serious injuries, but has since recovered.

He's facing a DUI manslaughter charge as well as driving with a revoked license.

Tuesday, a bay county judge set his bond for a $100,000.

Brittany says the hardest part about the whole thing is losing her mom at time when she was just starting to see her in a whole new light.

Brittney Bodmor, the victim's daughter, said, "As I got older you know like I understand her and was more open to her so it's kind of hard now because we were getting really really close."

But this new found respect is how Brittney’s mom will live on in her memories forever. And for that, she says she's grateful.

The Thomas’s are trying to adopt Brittney and are in the process of adding an extra room onto their home for her.

If you'd like to donate to the construction fund, drop by any Coastal Community Bank Branch.

If you'd like to help with the actual construction call the Thomas’s at 276-9749.

Storm Wood is a selfish monster. He took the life out of Robin & took away 3 loving childen's mother, forever. To say we all have a broken heart is an understatement. Everyone of us would have given our own lives for hers. I only home Storm Wood learns to appreciate the life of others instead of just himself. You have torn all of our lives apart, every single day .... still.

That was probably a letter from her other daughter, it sounds more like Sam. And don't speak for my family as to what did or did not do justice.

Storm Wood. He is a dad, a son, and a best friend. He did read her letter, he balled on the phone to me as he told me what it had said. It said, why did you kill my mommy. He was in terrible pain in everyway possible to feel pain. This was a terrible, terrible ACCIDENT for EVERYONE involved. Please don't make him out to be a monster. He is a human, a caring loving person who made a mistake he can't take back. They both made a mistake that night, I'm not saying he is not responsible, because he is. This article is unfair, whomever wrote it did not do either family justice.
