Local airport officials say things have been pretty much business as usual here in Panama City following the terrorist plot which was uncovered.
Airport officials say they got word of the heightened security measures in the middle of the night. That gave them enough time to bring in extra personnel, and that's helped keep things running smoothly.
Lines were a little backed up around noon when there are several flights arriving and departing in a very short period of time, but airport officials say it was nothing out of the ordinary.
By midday Thursday most travelers were aware of the new restrictions and re-packed their carry on baggage before they got to the airport. But there were some who were shocked to hear they couldn't take bottled water, shampoo or even eye drops onboard.
Most people were understanding. They either tossed the items out or checked them in their luggage.
Airport officials are asking passengers to arrive a little early, but again, they're not anticipating any delays in Panama City related to heightened security.
