A new website pressuring Florida House Speaker Ray Sansom of Destin to resign is up and running. "Progress Florida" is behind the website www.SackSansom.com.
Its part of the push to oust the Destin Republican from his House Speaker’s post.
Sansom has come under heavy criticism for taking a lucrative job with Northwest Florida State College in Niceville after getting the college millions in construction funds.
Sansom accepted a $110,000 a year part-time job as a Vice President at the school on the same day he was sworn in as House Speaker.
The selection of Sansom for the unadvertised opening came just months after the Republican lawmaker managed to get the school some 25 million dollars in construction funds. The school had requested only one million.
The Sack Sansom website says an online poll by "Progress Florida" found that 97% of those who responded felt Sansom should resign or quit his college job, or be censured by the House.

It seems that the president of Northwest Florida State is possibly his corrupt ally in this once again screwing of Florida's taxpayers. Why is it that the entrenched Republican pols who run Florida's government preach fiscal discipline when they cut aid to the sick and poor but are all for spending millions on their own pet projects and to feather their personal nests. Charlie Crist needs to tell this guy to choose between one job or the other now!
