Her employer decides what she says when she's on the clock. If she had a case, a "secular" law firm would've taken it. Since she doesn't, she's got a right wing firm that will milk it for publicity while losing.

Jesus read all of these comments. Better check yourselves! Happy Birthday Jesus and please forgive the unbelievers.

What a waste on good news time for this kind of whining. WAKEUP..when U work for an "EMPLOYER" U are on there time, they sign your pay check, so commonsence says "OBIDE" or FIND ANOTHER DAMB JOB.

Hey ANNA, Jesus was not born in April. April is when he was resurrected. And we do have a national holiday for it. It's called Easter. You obviously aren't a Christian after reading your comments, and your lack of knowledge of Christ. I'm not even a hard core Christian and I know the basics.

I don't think a 5 year old Jewish child or a 10 year old Buddhist child is celebrating c-mas. And, yes, I enjoy the day off because my company has chosen to be closed. If they were open, I'd be working without complaint as well. I didn't ask for the day off. And if you really wanted to celebrate Jesus's birthday, you'd be asking for a national holiday in April, Jesus's real birthday.

We may live in a pluralistic society but one day that will be separated and Hell will be the ONLY pluralistic society. In heaven there will only be those saved by Jesus Christ. That's the truth. Belive what you want now, but a new day is coming!

With everyone getting into such an uproar with the fear of being offensive about saying merry Christmas, why not just stop celebrating the day and let everyone who currently enjoys the day off, get back to work. I am fairly confident that you weren't complaining about calling it Christmas when you were five yrs. old or ten yrs. old. But of course, you are a much wiser adult now. Why do you want it both ways? You want the paid day off but let's just all forget what in the world we were suppose to celebrate in the first place.

If an employer directs you to answer the phone a certain way, then you answer the phone that way. Or, go work somewhere else. This is a perfect example of a person feeling entitled to something for nothing.

Tonia deserves to be fired. The work-place is not the place for proselytizing Christianity. Happy Holidays is a democratizing greeting that honors all religious and secular preferences. "Holiday" is a derivative of "Holy Day". So if some one wishes one a happy Holy Day, this covers Christmas, Hanuka, Ramadan, Kwanzaa, and the secularist beliefs. We live in a pluralistic society. Tonia--get use to it!

How can she sue when Florida is an "at will" work state? The company doesn't even need a reason to terminate someone. And if I was in need of that companies services, I would patronize them for being mindful that C-mas is not the only holiday this time of year. Why can't people celebrate what they want to with thier families and wish everyone else the best in what they celebrate? Happy Holidays, Happy WInter Solstice, Happy Hannukah, Happy Kwanzaa, and Merry Christmas!
