Food stamps

I agree Jamie..If you are on any type of Government funding you should have to submit to drug testing. I drug test people ever day and 90% of them are on disablity and medicaid..and I won't disclose how many fail..but it's over 50%

Things are bad and getting worse. I agree with a comment I read a few weeks ago though. Make them pass a drug test before they can receive benifits. I had to pass one before I could get a job so I could pay taxes that pay them their benifits so why shouldn't they have too

I agree if people need the help, but there are those who do not need the help. They are lazy and lie on the forms about the wages. The sit around making more babies and drama to gain a check or have rent paid in full or access to food stamps. This is their living. The food stamp program was put in place to help those get over bad times not to live off of for generations.

You certainly can't blame people for trying to get all the help they can in this awful economy we are in. Food and medial cost's continue to increase while our pay checks remain the same, not to mention work hours being cut, layoffs, companies closing, etc..... I'm 52 years old and I have never seen this country in as bad of shape as it currently is, and getting worse everyday.

I agree someone that is trying can't get any help but if you drive new car with 22 inch rims and choose not to draw a pay check the legal way then your approved but other's denied!!!! I also have disabled son on SSI but they some months my husband makes to much looking at the gross not net and all the bills like you see all that money anyway! Goverment only helps those not in need but the people that are taking away from those that really need help may god have mercy on yall!

What ever..let me tell you. I work my tail off, my daughter got sick, we fell behind. I applied, because I was 20 bucks above for that month for the allowance, I was denied, but yet, my x can sit at home who never pays child support, collect food stamps has a women living in his home who also does not work and has some 17 kid living in the house hold from another winner he met and he is claiming all them on his food stamp income. Fraud, Fraud..I work everyday and got a little behind and they tell me NO...this program is deisigned to only help those who know how to lie and get around the system not those who are honest!

What do we do? My husband works but is only getting 30 hours a week. My son is still fooking for work. I am disabled and can't work. We've applied for food stamps but have not yet been approved. We have 1 can of green beens and a can of cream of mushroom soup in our cupboard that has to last till friday. Then we pay our rent weekly now and try to pay on the power bill that is due in total which we won't have all of and will be cut off probably. I have 31 medications that need to be filled and need them to stay alive so now what I am just drinking black coffe and water in stead of eating with my meds. Some thing has got to be done to help everyone I know that I'm not the only one in this postion.
