Two public figures are facing problems after brushes with the law.
Former Panama City Beach city councilman and current Assistant Beach City Manager Bill Mathieu was jailed during the night on DUI charges.
The Florida Highway Patrol says Mathieu wrecked his pick up truck on State Road 79 near West Bay.
He was not injured but his truck sustained at least $5,000 damage.
Also the Chairman of the Bay County Republican Party has resigned. Twenty-nine-year-old Arthur Cullen resigned at Monday night's executive committee meeting.
Cullen was arrested Sunday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence.
In a statement released this morning Cullen said he felt it was necessary and best to step down as the Chairman of the Republican Party of Bay County, and that the focus right now should be on the candidates.
