Gulf World Marine Park was contacted by National Marine Fisheries Service on the evening of 12/14/08 and asked if they would care for a critically ill Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphin.

The male dolphin stranded in Pasco County, on the North side of Anclote Island.

Clearwater Marine Aquarium staff, another member of the southeast regional stranding network, stabilized the dolphin overnight and transported the dolphin to Gulf World on 12/15/08. The male dolphin, weighing 250 pounds upon arrival is being cared for around the clock by Gulf World’s marine mammal staff.

A big thumbs up for Gulf World Park. They do such good work for marine life. We should all be very proud for what they do.
