Patronis Elementary School off Thomas Drive went into a lockdown state around 2 p.m. Friday afternoon after some students reported seeing a man under one of the portable classrooms.
The students gave a description of the man to Bay County sheriff's deputies who scoured the area, but the man, described as a bearded vagrant with a red hat, was never found.
Deputies stayed at the site until all students left safely when school was over for the day.
They are continuing to search other areas for the man.
