Holmes County Sheriff’s Investigators and State Attorney Steve Meadows are searching for clues to the identity of a woman they found weighted down in a Holmes County lake Saturday morning.
Just before Noon Saturday campers stumbled across the unidentified woman’s body, which had been weighted down in Lake Cassidy. The lake is in Holmes County near the Walton County line.
She is described as a white female, 30 to 50, with long dark hair and a tattoo on her arm.
They are asking that anyone who knows of a missing person who matches that description to call their local sheriff or police department.
The Holmes County Sheriff’s Dive Team is continuing to canvas the lake for clues that could help them solve the homicide.
They’re hoping an autopsy scheduled for Monday may yield clues as to the woman’s identity and a cause of death.
