A young Vernon boy who had been missing for most of the day, is back home tonight, safe with his family.

Washington County Sheriff's Investigators found 6-year-old Damion Brown this evening hiding in a secret area under his house.

Brown's parents reported him missing around 12:30 this afternoon, well after he failed to show up to Vernon Elementary School this morning.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office organized a large scale search, which included K-9 units and a helicopter from several different agencies.

Search teams finally found Damion about 7:00 tonight, hiding under the house and pretty scared.

His biological father, Timothy Allen Brown, Jr. says, "(I) just tell him that I love him, I miss him and I'm glad we found him."

"He's our baby and we're just thrilled and we thank God and just want to take him home," says his Great Aunt Connie Hawes.

Investigators say Brown is healthy and no worse for his ordeal.
