A woman is in jail Friday morning after dozens of horses and small puppies were allegedly discovered at her property.

Bay and Calhoun County authorities are at the property located at 16441 Northwest Capital Blvd.; this is just over the Bay County line east of Youngstown.

Authorities say the woman could be charged with 4-5 counts of animal cruelty and already has a prior arrest in Calhoun County. Many of the dogs are designer style dogs.

As you can imagine Bay County Animal Control is preparing to be flooded with dogs. They’ll be asking for your help in housing some of the animals while more permanent homes can be found.

Hidden Springs Horse Rescue of Jackson County now has the horses and will have them up for adoption. For more information, please contact Melanie at 850-526-2231, 850-766-2334 or www.floridahorserescue.com
