Two different elementary schools came together Friday morning to support one great cause.
The 8th annual "Wings Across the Bridge Event" kicked off with a concert performance by the choirs of Lynn Haven and Southport Elementaries.
The students then geared up and made the walk across the old Bailey Bridge.
When the youngsters reached the Southport side they each dropped their money into an eagle's nest.
Both schools spent the last month raising the money to support a pair of injured American Bald Eagles and other local wildlife rescue efforts.
Organizers say the student's efforts are humbling.
Rhonda Adams from Southport Elementary School says, "It has amazed me all year long as our nation economy has worsened that my students and their parents have continued to astound us with their generosity."
Between, Lynn Haven and Southport Elementaries, the student's raised over $3,000.
