One of Florida’s former first ladies joined the woman who wants to become the next occupant of the governor's mansion.
Peggy Davis, wife of Democratic gubernatorial candidate Jim Davis, spent the afternoon at the after-school assistance program in Panama City.
Adele Graham, wife of Florida U.S. Senator and Florida Gov. Bob Graham, was at Davis' side.
The two ladies were in town, not only to campaign, but to tour the A-SAP Center.
Davis' husband has made education a key campaign issue.
"Jim says his dream is for all of our public schools to be filled with the best and brightest Floridians. And that's our teachers and our parents and our children. Our public schools are our communities, and he wants to see those thrive and be at the top of the country not at the bottom where we are now,” says Peggy Davis.
Davis' opponent, Republican Charlie Crist, is due to make a high-profile stop in Panama City next week, with former U.S. Senator, and possible presidential candidate John McCain.
The event will take place at McKenzie Park next Wednesday at 1 p.m.
