The last of eight people charged in the death of a Boot Camp teenage boy surrendered at the Bay County Jail Tuesday night.
Kristin Schmidt was the nurse at the Bay County juvenile boot camp last January 5 when the Martin Lee Anderson case developed.
She had a first appearance in Bay County Court at noon Wednesday before circuit judge Dedee Costello. Schmidt was accompanied by her attorney Jim Appleman, former State Attorney.
She faces a charge of aggravated manslaughter of a person under the age of 18.
She and seven drill instructors were formally charged Tuesday following a 10-month investigation by Tampa State Attorney Mark Ober.
Judge Costello ordered Schmidt's bond set at $25,000, the same set Tuesday on identical charges against the seven drill instructors.
Kristin Schmidt's next court date is January 18.
