Five Arrested for String of ATV Thefts
Between the late evening hours of Sunday, May 31, and the early morning hours of Monday, June 1, 2009, the southeastern portion of Jackson County experienced several ATV thefts.

Between the late evening hours of Sunday, May 31, and the early morning hours of Monday, June 1, 2009, the southeastern portion of Jackson County experienced several ATV thefts.

Two ATV’s were stolen from within the city limits of Sneads and one was taken just outside of the city in the county.

Chief Burt McAlpin of Sneads Police Department joined forces with investigators from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and began to investigate these thefts. Information was obtained that lead investigators to the Greensboro area of Gadsden County. With the assistance of the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Department and the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department, five ATV’s were located & recovered.

The recovered ATV’s were two stolen from Sneads, and three that had been stolen in recent days in Calhoun County.

Four individuals were arrested that were involved with the thefts of these ATV’s. William Dean, Julian Anzualda, Kwqshawn Davis, and Antwan Williams were arrested and charged with various crimes from Burglary to Grand Theft.

These individuals were booked into the Jackson County Jail. Charges are forthcoming from the Gadsden and Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department. On Monday, June 8, 2009, another stolen ATV was recovered in the Inwood area of Jackson County.

This ATV was stolen at the same time as the aforementioned ATV’s, but by a different defendant.

Michael Armstrong was found to be in possession of the stolen ATV. He was arrested and charged with Burglary and Grand Theft, and booked into the Jackson County Jail.

Sheriff Lou Roberts cautions everyone to secure their valuable property, whether inside or outside, and report all suspicious incidents, vehicles, or persons to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, or your local law enforcement agency.
