On Monday, officers with the Marianna police department responded to a report of a three vehicle traffic crash at the intersection of Lafayette Street and Pennsylvania Avenue.
Upon arrival, it was determined that one vehicle was traveling west on Lafayette street, ran the red light and collided with another vehicle traveling north on Pennsylvania avenue through the intersection.
This collision caused the north bound vehicle to collide with another vehicle that was facing south on Pennsylvania avenue awaiting an eastward turn onto Lafayette street. During investigation of the crash, it was discovered that the driver of the northbound vehicle, Jimmy Gene O’Bryan, had a suspended driver’s license.
It was also discovered that O’Bryan had an active warrant out of Calhoun County for failure to appear in court. O’Bryan was arrested without incident, processed at the Marianna police department and booked into the Jackson county correctional facility.
