Jeb Bush flew out of Tallahassee for the final time Friday as Governor.
He boarded a state plane for Miami, where he will finish out his term. The governor hugged staffers good bye in the rain before hopping on the flight with his wife, Columba, and a few boxes of belongings.
The First Lady was carrying the First Cat, Sugar, in a cat carrier on their way to their new home in Coral Gables.
The governor says he’s planning on a little R and R over the holidays before he decides what to do in his new life as a private citizen. “I’m going to have a little time off. Mostly do a little fishing, golfing, resting, reading, exercising and then I got to make a living so I’ll figure it out probably in January.”
The governor plans to spend Christmas in Florida fishing with family members.
