Two dead in Saturday trailer fire in Holmes County
A Westville couple was killed early Saturday morning when fire destroyed their trailer on County 162 just off County 179A in western Holmes County.

A Westville couple was killed early Saturday morning when fire destroyed their trailer on County 162 just off County 179A in western Holmes County.
While names were not officially released pending investigation, family members at the scene identified the victims as James and Juanita Henley, both in their 60s. James Henley was retired and Juanita Henley worked at Doctors Memorial Hospital.
The bodies were found in the bedroom of their older model singlewide trailer about 100 feet in the words down a dire lane off County 162. One body was found in the front of the bedroom and the other in back with the body of a pet dog.
Firefighters received the callout at 6:39 a.m. according to Holmes County E-911 and Westville Volunteer Fire Department was on the scene within minutes. Firefighters reported that the trailer was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived.
Firefighters from Westville, Bonifay, Caryville, Pine Log, Ponce de Leon, and Pittman, as was Holmes County EMS and Holmes County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies with the State Fire Marshall’s Office were on the scene investigating the cause of the fire.
