A fire that destroyed the Old Shay's Oyster Restaurant on Grace Ave. in downtown Panama City is still under investigation. Progress was made Tuesday when demolition crews knocked down one of the brick walls to the historic building.
Panama City Firefighters along with the State's Fire Marshall's officers tore down the south wall of the building so they could get back into the ruins and probe for the cause of the Sunday night fire.
By doing demolishing the wall they are trying to make the building safer for investigators and crews to enter. Since the fire Sunday night, no one has been inside to determine what caused the massive blaze.
