Attorney selected the jury to hear the case of John Glen Pryor. Pryor was convicted of shooting and killing a friend named Michael Strickland in July 2001.
During his first trial in February 2002, Pryor claimed he shot Strickland in self-defense after a night of drinking. Jurors didn't buy it, sentencing Pryor to life for first-degree murder.
But the district court of appeals ordered a key prosecution witness was discredited.
The man claimed to have half a dozen DUI convictions, when in fact he had eight other convictions including aggravated assault, escape and burglary.
