The body of an elderly woman was found in a submerged car in Port St. Joe at mid-morning Thursday.
Police Chief James Hersey identified the woman as 87-year-old Lailan Grady Moss of Rockledge, Florida.
The car was submerged at the Port St. Joe city boat ramp and was first spotted by a private citizen who called authorities.
Rescue workers recovered the body of the driver. They have not yet determined how the car ended up in the water.
Chief Hersey says a full-scale investigation is underway.
