February is open enrollment month for school choice in Bay County, and school officials are hoping to remind parents of their upcoming decision.
Friday, Bay District schools unveiled their school choice billboard. The reminder is right across from Panama City Mall, where next Saturday, schools will have their special programs on display for parents and students to see what each school has to offer.
"We want to be flexible, we know that every school is not a perfect fit for all of the students who are zoned for that school, so this will give parents an opportunity. Sometimes it has to do with where a parent is working and it may be more convenient for them to go to a school where the parent has their job," says James McCalister, Bay Schools Superintendent.
Parents can pick up enrollment cards at your child's school or at the district office on Balboa Avenue in Panama City.
