The Bay County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Division received a tip from Officer Monica Pennington of State Probation and Parole. Following up on the lead, investigators accompanied Pennington to a residence at 5104 East 13th Court in Springfield.

Officer Pennington arrested Malcom Delancy, DOB 2/1//81, for Violation of Probation. After being arrested in his home, Delancy attempted to escape and dashed out the door of his home.

He ran approximately two blocks before being apprehended by Sheriff’s deputies. Even though he was handcuffed, Delancy tried to destroy evidence by discarding a large quantity of cocaine from his groin area.

Investigators were able to recover the majority of the cocaine that was on the street. The amount of cocaine recovered was over 100 grams with an estimated street value of about $10,000.00. Bay County Sheriff’s Office investigators also recovered about $6,000.00 in U.S. currency from Delancy.

Delancy was originally on probation for felony Driving While License Suspended and Giving False Information to a Law Enforcement Officer. Delancy now faces charges of Trafficking in Cocaine, Tampering with Evidence, Possession of MDMA, Possession of Marijuana less than 20 grams, Resisting an Officer Without Violence, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
