With the holidays right around the corner, the south Walton fire district is gearing up for its eighth annual angel tree charity foundation.
They're teaming up with the “Caring and Sharing” of DeFuniak Springs to give the underprivileged children of Walton county a Christmas they wouldn't have otherwise.
There are more than two hundred "angel names" with holiday wish lists available at the South Walton Station Three Headquarters in Santa Rosa Beach.
After an angel is selected, sponsors shop for the things on their list.
Sponsors wrap the gifts then return them to the fire station by Monday December 14th.
Organizers say sponsoring a child is one of the biggest Christmas miracles you can give.
"It's just so heartwarming. I never get to see the children who receive the gifts, but the people from the community who come in and contribute and are so generous, it's just an absolutely heartwarming thing to do"
If you would like to participate in this year's angel tree charity,
you can stop by the south Walton fire district three between 8:30 am and 4:00 pm or call 267-1298 for more information.
