A two vehicle traffic crash in Walton County killed an elderly Louisiana woman.

The Florida Highway Patrol says the crash happened on US 331 at West Indian Creek Ranch Road Tuesday afternoon.

Killed was 73 year old Mary D. Siler of Pearl River, Louisiana.

Troopers say Mrs. Siler was driving north of US 331 when her car left the roadway, hit a sign , crashed into the rear of a parked pick up truck and finally crashed into an antique store’s building .

Witnesses say Siler had swerved to avoid an animal in the road and lost control.

Sorry for the loss of this womans life. 9 times out of 10 your better off just hitting the animal. I have seen too many accidents that were far worse off by the driver trying to spare the animals life. Your life & safety is far more important than the animal you were trying to avoid.
