A family of seven from Niceville is dead after a plane crash while flying back to Destin.
It happened around 6:30pm Saturday night; the plane went down near Demopolis, Alabama. The Marengo County Coroner has identified the parents as Fred and Teresa Teutenberg.
The F-A-A reports the Cessna C421 plane, owned by Teutenberg, was flying from St. Louis to the Destin airport, after a family reunion, when it declared an in flight emergency and diverted to Demopolis Municipal Airport after losing its right engine.
The plane crashed within about 2 miles from the airport, but the crash site is 8-9 miles into the woods.
The couple and their five children, ranging in age from 2 to 10, died on board.
