The Reverend James Sansom and his wife Sandra are both pastors at Zion Ministries, which bills itself as a “charismatic” non-denominational church.
Investigators had executed search warrants at the church itself, its business office and the Sansom home.
Authorities say the relatives of two now-deceased parishioners called for the investigation. The Sansoms are accused of taking more than $80,000, largely by convincing them and others they were the legally appointed caretakers.
Investigators think there might have been other victims, who are being urged to come forward.
